General Data Protection Regulation: what is it?

The GDPR gives you rights and protection in how data about you is used by organisations. When we hold personal data about you, we promise that it will be processed lawfully, fairly and transparently. It will only used for a specific processing purpose that you have been made aware of and no other, without further consent. We make sure the data we collect will be “adequate, relevant and limited” i.e. only the minimum amount of data is kept for the specific tasks for which we have asked for it, and for which you have given your permission. We make every effort to ensure it is accurate and where necessary kept up to date. We do not store your details for longer than is necessary, and that storage is safe and secure.
