Junior Church at home

Third Sunday of Easter

Sunday 26th April. We use the Roots programme for many of our children’s activities. While the “stay at home” season continues, Roots are making resources available to use at home - browse at http://www.rootsontheweb.com

For this week, there are two files of word puzzles based around the Armour of God, Psalm 23 and the Ten Commandments: file 1 and file 2

Eastertide

Some resources previous Sundays of Eastertide:

2nd Sunday of Easter (19th April), there are resources based on our Gospel reading John 20:19-31 FamilyResources with ideas for discussing how Thomas would have felt, sharing the peace, singing songs with some online backing, and making your own play dough.

Holy Week and Easter

We shall be adding prayer, worship and activity suggestions here, from our Junior Church leaders and also the many ideas from around the Diocese, the Church and the internet.

First, a letter to children from Bishop Sarah of London (diocesan web page with video introduction and text of her letter).

The written resources come as Word or PDF files. (The Word file will be a smaller download if you have a way of opening it on your computer afterwards, and the PDF will be larger but should look the same on any system.)

To begin, here are some resources about Palm Sunday and the events of the week leading up to the Passion:

  • Activity sheet on the Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem in Word and PDF formats

  • Activity sheet on Jesus’ words about persecution, from the Beatitudes, Word and PDF formats
